Apart from residing within the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s bustling shopping district, Changkat in Bukit Bintang, El Cerdo is also a famous pork joint where gastronomic German guru, Werner J Kuhn, brings to the table a myriad of home-cooked porky flavours that hail from Europe, Mexico, and the Caribbean. After having painstakingly undergone eight years of passion and impulsive lip-smacks to nurture porky dishes to near perfection, results pay off as the eatery earns a ranking in the top 30 restaurants to eat in the city on TripAdvisor as of 2013.

(Seafood spaghetti in Lobster Cream) If I knew this swine feast was going to be that filling, I wouldn’t have ordered the Seafood spaghetti in Lobster Cream. But then again, I’m glad I did because it was really..good..spaghetti! I actually enjoyed this better than the suckling pig. The sauce was richly flavoured and adequately creamy; and there was a generous amount of seafood in the pasta. – Nov 1, 2013
My favorite dish of the night was the Oven Roasted Iberico spare Ribs (RM88), served with a fairly forgettable Pineapple Salsa. The spare Ribs, however, were utterly awesome. An almost-crispy outer crust thanks to the Maillard reaction, combined with the meat bursting with juice and chock-ful of porky flavor, this dish is a clear winner. – Dec 1, 2012
(Marinated Pork Shoulder Steak) It’s really really really juicy and flavourful!! The meat texture isn’t dry because pork is a very difficult meat to handle as it tends to get dry easily. What’s even surprising is the flavour of it. Simply divine. I might even visit there again just for this particular dish~ – Aug 12, 2013
