Yakiniku Ishiya

Founded in the early 90’s by Mr. Reiji Yamamoto, Yakiniku Ishiya brings Japanese Stone house-grilled meats from Kyoto to The Strand in Kota Damansara. The restaurant specialises in Japanese barbecue, with a selection of Kobe beef, seafood, chicken, lamb, and vegetables enhanced with a unique tare (dipping sauce) concoction. With roasters imported directly from Japan, Yakiniku Ishiya brings an authentic taste of Japan to the folks in Petaling Jaya.

Yakiniku Ishiya does not serve pork, but offers alcohol on its menu.

The next dish is known as Tempura Moriawase, a mixed tempura platter consisting of vegetables and prawns and crab sticks. The tempura is so delicate that I spend more time looking at it trying to figure out how they fry it enough that it’s crunchy yet not over cooking the meat/vegetables while putting on a beautiful art display. Just look at it as you are paying RM26 for an art piece that cost twice that amount. – July 2014
