Within Kuala Lumpur’s tourist hotspot of Bukit Bintang, Cafe Kathmandu, a restaurant specialising in Nepalese cuisine nestles quietly, serving up dishes like chicken thali, thukpa (Nepalese noodle soup), and mutton curry alongside familiar offerings of spaghetti and Western cuisine. Its interior of vinyl seats, mirrored walls, and fluorescent lights becomes awash in blue neon as dusk approaches, giving the establishment a discotheque feel and transforming the daytime eatery into a pub-cum-club where patrons can guzzle down a beer or two and nibble on finger food like pasta, chicken wings, and sausages.
Cafe Kathmandu does not serve pork, but offers alcohol on its menu.
